HOW TO JOIN THE CHURCH:
Anyone interested in joining First Presbyterian Church is asked to meet with the Session (the governing board). The meeting will be held at the prospective member’s convenience. Come prepared to share your experience of the Christian faith.
We receive members by profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, by reaffirmation of faith, or by transfer of membership from other Christian churches (if your home church does not transfer members, then you will join by reaffirmation of faith).
Once the Session has voted to receive you as a member, you will be presented to the congregation as a new member. This is done differently depending on how you join. Details will be given to you when you join.
HOW TO FIND US:
From the north: Take Highway 37 south into Winnsboro. Go through the two traffic lights at Elm and Broadway. Continue south across the railroad tracks to the second street, which is Myrtle. Turn left (east) on Myrtle and go three blocks. The church will be on the right on the corner of Myrtle and Chestnut.
From the south: Take Highway 37 north into Winnsboro. Come through the light at the intersection of Highways 37 (Main Street) and 515 (Coke Road). Continue north past the City Hall (on your right) and Oaklea Mansion. Just past Oaklea Mansion, turn right (east) on Cedar Street. Go three blocks. The church parking lot opens to Cedar on the left just before the corner of Cedar and Chestnut.
From the west: Take Highway 11 east into Winnsboro (it becomes Broadway). Turn right (south) at the intersection of Highways 11 and 37. Go two blocks to Myrtle. Turn left on to Myrtle and go three blocks. The church will be on right at the corner of Myrtle and Chestnut.
From the east: Take Highway 11 west into Winnsboro. Turn left (south) on Walnut Street (there will be U-Haul trailers on the northeast corner, a gas station on the northwest corner, and the depot parking lot on the southwest corner of Walnut and Highway 11). Go two blocks and turn left (east) on Myrtle. Go one block to the church, which will be on the right at the corner of Myrtle and Chestnut.
